Despite the snow, the show did go on! The students at LABBB were up to the challenge and with luck on our side, the show Spectacularis went on without a hitch. It was a spectacular night with a good size crowd of supporting families and students cheering them on.
It was a 5 star show with the marvelous mischief of the clowns (our guest artists Adam and Irmina), our emcee Nicholas kept us laughing at his wonderful jokes, Michael had us rocking, loved the the creative movement of the dancers, Jesse did some dazzling dancing with Alice, heard the sweet music of keyboardist Zachary, Mastreo Theo and the Voice Orchestra took us to new heights, Spencer and Laura lit up the stage, and the Zeboids gave us a big galatical ending with the full cast.
Spectacularis was a Theater For All production where Brio, LABBB, and Burlington High School collaborated to make it all happen. This performance was the culmination of a series of workshops with Brio where the students created the show and Sahar Ahmed of Brio directed. Guest artists Alice Heller and Laura Orcutt help with dance. The show was performed at Burlington High School February 4th 2015. The short video “What is Spectacularis?” was shown during the performance. Special thanks to everyone at LABBB, the vice-principal Deborah Deacon, and music director John Middleton and his student light&sound crew Jessica, Jenn, Will, and Paul.
