Basil El Halwagy artist and teacher conducted a special workshop making masks with Brio Integrated Theatre at the Winchester Ambrose Elementary School. This workshop was free to the public, and for all abilities.
Masks are mainly used in performance, – rituals, theatrical works, and dances. Each mask in this workshop were a different design and made out of terracotta clay. Workshop participants designed and painted these masks using acrylic paint. The masks are going into the collection of Brio Integrated Theater to be used in future performance workshops.
Basil El Halwag has taught at Ambrose Elementary School in Winchester and has performed and work shown locally.
