Intermediate ASL Course with our ASL teacher, Ali Schmalenberger, who will take you to the next step in learning this visual expressive language – American Sign Language. This course is for people who have basic understanding of ASL. You will recieve a certificate of completion at the end of the course. There will 10 classes total on each Tuesday from March 3 – May 5.
Ali is a state-certified ASL teacher and interpreter and she is currently teaching at Beverly Public Schools.She is involved in the local deaf community, always expanding her knowledge of the culture and language. She has a Master of Education in Mathematics and has tutored and taught in a variety of subjects since 2004, but tends to focus on Mathematics and Science. She has found her passion for teaching and is eager to share any knowledge she can with the community.
Ali is also the founder of Learn Something, a small company focused on education in the local community. Ali hopes to not only share her own knowledge, but also help other teachers share theirs. Ali hopes that Learn Something will become the place that students and teachers come to in order to find each other and work together, in addition to being a resource for those looking for other avenues of education.
This is a FREE course, for people of all abilities and ages. Limited to 15 students.
The class will start at Winchester Public Library, but will also meet during the course
at the Brio Integrated Theatre’s Studio, 50 Cross Street, Winchester, MA.
