Due to rain on April 7th, the town has changed the date of the Light It Up Blue Lighting Ceremony at the common to April 26th at 7PM. Our Guest speaker, local Winchester artist, John Williams and Jennifer Flaherty, teacher from Lynch Elementary School will speak. There will be blue donuts provided by Dunkin Donuts, Pizza from Toscanos, lots of fun gifts and a free raffle. And hopefully great weather!
April is national autism awareness month. We want to thank our local businesses in Winchester who have put up signs, lights and advertised special events for the month of April showing their support and helping to create a more inclusive community.
Use #WinchesterLIUB to show what you are doing for autism awareness. You can wear something blue, paint your nails blue, put up blue lights at your home, read a book about autism from the Winchester Library or at Bookends, find resources about autism and share with others. Be Creative! Spread the News!
Also as part of autism awareness month, the film “Temple Grandin” will be shown at the Winchester Public Library on April 21st at 6:30 PM. This is a free event and all are welcome.
Sponsored by the Winchester Disability Access Commission, Brio Integrated Theatre, and the Winchester Multicultural Network in Light it Up Blue.
